Yacht - Psychic City (Kosha Dillz Remix)

So this is a little late, but here it is. Not really a remix, but Kosha Dillz delivers a catchy rap over the classic song off Yacht’s “See Mysterious Lights” The Jewish rapper is touring with Yeah Yeah Yeahs, so look out for him.

Who is Kosha Dillz ?
Former drug dealer/addict  ex convict turned drug counselor that kicks butt and saves lives on a daily basis, and on  his spare time  tours with Matisyahu and the Rza.

Wolfmother - New Moon Rising (YACHT Remix)

It’s about time I started this blog up again. Things have been busy, but here we go. I never really liked Wolfmother, with the exception of “Woman,” but adding YACHT will make me love anything. What I respect most is that YACHT didn’t entirely remake the piece. The duo left some Wolfmother style and fused it with theirs.

By the way, expect more YACHT tomorrow.

Amanda Blank - Might Like You Better (Rusko Remix)

Just a quick post before I have to leave. You know that I love Amanda Blank. Rusko has transformed her raunchy hit “Might Like You Better” into something more electric than you could have imagined. It has a completely different sound.

Posin’ Makes A Sum Up

In 2007, back when the earth was young, I made this music full of disco sounds and electronic songs. I can’t even really remember the entire tracklisting, but if I don’t say so myself- it’s pretty good and probably something fun to dance to. The album artwork I made says there’s…

  1. VIP Party Boys - Posin’
  2. Cheek - Sunshine People
  3. Figurine - New Mate
  4. Get Shakes - Day Like Today
  5. Bumblebeez - Black Dirt
  6. Sebastien Tellier - ??????
  7. Lorn? - ???
  8. Channels 3x4 - ????? [I should have never included this one- sorry!]
  9. Shiny Toy Guns - Starts With One (Young Americans Remix) [I believe the Young Americans became Classixx)
  10. Bloc Party - Hunting For Witches (Crystal Castles Remix)
  11. Peter Bjorn & John - Young Folks (Night Facilities Remix)
  12. Kate Nash - Fingertips (Metronomy Remix)
  13. Justice - The Party (Feat. Uffie; Some remix…)
  14. M.I.A. - Come Around (Feat. Timbaland; Some remix…)
If you know what some of the tracks are, let me know. You can listen here for a little while, but eventually the file will expire. You can download here.

Why? - This Blackest Purse

Why? has premiered their newest (if you could call it that) track recently. “The Blackest Purse” comes from the upcoming album “Eskimo Snow” which incidentally was recorded at the same time as “Alopecia” in February 2007. The album will not be released until this fall, but we’re getting a preview of it now.

Headman Yoni Wolf promises that “Eskimo Snow” will be the least hip-hop album they’ve ever done; something you can almost tell from this one track. Nevertheless, it’s still quality music from Why?

Thecocknbullkid - Clean Apart

I’m just finding out about this funky electro-pop singer, Thecocknbullkid (read: the cock and bull kid). With a sound like a fusion of Little Boots and Kate Nash, she has successfully captured my interest. Looking forward to hearing more from her, but here’s a sample track for anyone who hasn’t heard of her.

Emil and Friends - Downed Economy (Mr. Vega Remix)

I really only know Emil and Friends from their remix of Little Boots’ “New In Town” and I love that remix more than any of the dozens that are roaming the hype machine. Now that I’ve heard the original and the awesome remix by Mr. Vega, I will be looking more into the group.

Mr. Vega made an awesome remix full of quick, repeated, short synths and taseful vocal effects. Looking back at the Crystal Castles remix he made, I’m assuming he never disappoints.

Lykke Li - Knocked Up (Death to the Throne Remix; Kings of Leon Cover)

It was a nice surprise to hear from Death to the Throne again. After the remixes for “Pop Bottles” and “Shake It To The Ground”, it’s hard to imagine DttT (D3T?) making anything less than perfect. With that in mind, you should be hyped up for the latest remix of a cover by Death to the Throne.

There’s a certain amount of “danceability” that comes with a D3T remix. This one features less distorted synths and more percussion. Nothing disappoints though.
