Lykke Li - Little Bit (Death to the Throne Re-Remix)

Well it’s been a while since I posted anything, but now that I’m back from my trip I can get back into it. Here’s Death to the Throne’s re-remix of Lykke Li’s “Little Bit”. The beginning almost fools you into believing that it’s going to be some sort of 8-bit version. Don’t be tricked, the rest of the remix doesn’t sound very much like remixes we’ve heard from Death to the Throne. It’s not as bass-thumping and dramatic as previous ones. Worth the download though.

Lykke Li - Knocked Up (Death to the Throne Remix; Kings of Leon Cover)

It was a nice surprise to hear from Death to the Throne again. After the remixes for “Pop Bottles” and “Shake It To The Ground”, it’s hard to imagine DttT (D3T?) making anything less than perfect. With that in mind, you should be hyped up for the latest remix of a cover by Death to the Throne.

There’s a certain amount of “danceability” that comes with a D3T remix. This one features less distorted synths and more percussion. Nothing disappoints though.

N.A.S.A. feat. Lykke Li, Kanye West and Santigold, “Gifted”

Well Vaughnshirley beat me to blogging it, but here’s the video. Also: I hate Santogold Santigold’s new name because it goes against every tag I’ve ever had for her.

Little Bit Lykke Li - Little Bit // Meet Lykke Li. She’s poppy. She’s folkish. But at the same time, she’s danceable. I’ll admit, her voice sounds like she’s 14 sometimes; but it fits her style so well.

The background music she’s using in “Little Bit” using reminds me of some sort of Beirutesque track, stripped of accordion, male vocals, and a title that I don’t understand.

Now knowing that “Sterogum named her an artist to watch in October 2007”, I plan on hearing her on the local college, alt radio station. They’ve got Santi White (AKA Santogold) playing, so I guess Lykke Li will be no exception.

I think the next step for Lykke Li would be to get remixed by Crystal Castles or LA Riots or someone. Maybe that old friend of TRFWRK, Night Facilities will remix that shit. I can hope.

Ya know, in the video I’ll post later on she kind of looks like Bjork. I know, I know. Just because someone is an alt female and exposes their forehead and makes a video in which they’re head is bobbing around like there’s a laser-show going on, doesn’t mean that they’re like Bjork. I just kind of have that stereotype in my head. But in other pictures, she kind of reminds me of a modern day Edie Sedgwick, with a more posh haircut. Then again, in other pictures she doesn’t really look like anyone.

Can you spot which one was made a fool of by “Factory Girl”?

Above all, Lykke Li is a pretty cool chick. I like her voice and you should definitely check her out.

Come on! Tell me that doesn’t remind you of Bjork!
