Why? - This Blackest Purse

Why? has premiered their newest (if you could call it that) track recently. “The Blackest Purse” comes from the upcoming album “Eskimo Snow” which incidentally was recorded at the same time as “Alopecia” in February 2007. The album will not be released until this fall, but we’re getting a preview of it now.

Headman Yoni Wolf promises that “Eskimo Snow” will be the least hip-hop album they’ve ever done; something you can almost tell from this one track. Nevertheless, it’s still quality music from Why?

Lykke Li - Little Bit (Death to the Throne Re-Remix)

Well it’s been a while since I posted anything, but now that I’m back from my trip I can get back into it. Here’s Death to the Throne’s re-remix of Lykke Li’s “Little Bit”. The beginning almost fools you into believing that it’s going to be some sort of 8-bit version. Don’t be tricked, the rest of the remix doesn’t sound very much like remixes we’ve heard from Death to the Throne. It’s not as bass-thumping and dramatic as previous ones. Worth the download though.

Thecocknbullkid - Clean Apart

I’m just finding out about this funky electro-pop singer, Thecocknbullkid (read: the cock and bull kid). With a sound like a fusion of Little Boots and Kate Nash, she has successfully captured my interest. Looking forward to hearing more from her, but here’s a sample track for anyone who hasn’t heard of her.

Animal Collective - Daily Routine (Phaseone Remix)

I’m usually not one for remixes of Animal Collective songs. Most producers fail at trying to create a dance track from their trippy sounds. That’s why this one took me by surprise. Phaseone doesn’t go overboard with the effects, doesn’t try to hard, and properly remixed Animal Collective’s “Daily Routine” . With more percussion and claps, and a breif hip-hop “yeah”, I have fallen in love with this remix.

Oh and I’m testing out some new default album artwork for when I don’t have any or I don’t feel like making it. Recently I’ve just been leaving it blank, but I decided to spruse it up a bit. Thoughts?
