The Black Ghosts - Repetition (Diplo Remix) // I never listened to The Black Ghosts. I think it may be because someone told me they were a start-up band from Simian and I already knew about SMD so I didn’t bother. I mean, how much Simian do I really need?
Regardless, Diplo has chosen to remix their track “Repitition”. It’s not the typical Diplo remix. It’s not all about big drums and claps. In fact, it sounds a little bit like the Soulwax remix of “You Can’t Always Get What You Want”. It’s certainly not the classic Diplo remixes/tracks that sound all tropical-like. His style has changed.
I kind of miss the old Diplo. Actually, I really miss the old Diplo. Don’t get me wrong. I still like the remixes and songs “Betty” and “Young Folks Pussy”, but sometimes I’m just in the mood for some classic baile funk “Diplo Rhythm” off Florida.
I guess I can only dream of a day when Diplo will make more albums that everyone steals instead of buying.
It’s still a good track. There’s a bit of crescendo to the end of the song. It’s good. Like it’s full of anticipation. Not much else I can say. Can’t compare it to the original as I haven’t heard it. Duh. Take a listen.
And while you’re at it, someone tell me what the story behind The Black Ghosts is. Are they any good?

Coldplay - Viva La Vida // I’m sorry but has no one noticed that Coldplay TOTALLY ripped off Patrick Wolf in this?! This is ridiculous!
The Cool Kids release “The Bake Sale”… finally // Hip-Hop’s The Cool Kids have finally realized their latest EP to a world of fans waiting for more kick-ass hits like “Black Mags”. This second EP, titled “The Bake Sale”, dropped by them features some of the same tracks from “Totally Flossed Out”, their first EP, and “Instant Mixtape Classic”. Though I haven’t fully analyzed it, I’m pretty sure the ones of “The Bake Sale” have been switched up and edited somehow.

Lykke Li - Little Bit // Meet Lykke Li. She’s poppy. She’s folkish. But at the same time, she’s danceable. I’ll admit, her voice sounds like she’s 14 sometimes; but it fits her style so well.

Fearless Four - Rockin It // I’m sorry but we definitely need some old school rap going on here. I found this one in the mix that Diplo made for some new Clot store and I loved it. I obviously don’t remember it from when it first came out in 1982 because I’m not that old. Regardless, it’s a sick song. It’s based off that controversial Kraftwerk track “The Man Machine”.
